Torremolinos town centre tends to be busy no matter what time of the year it is, but in the summer, it can feel a little more hectic! The stress of not knowing where is best to park ahead of time with the added pressure of the summer heat, can make for a less than enjoyable start to a nice meal out.
However, there’s a parking spot in Benalmádena that many locals use to visit us here at The Carvery in Torremolinos, and it’s much closer to The Carvery than you might think!
Why Puerto Marina Benalmádena is a good option
If you’re visiting The Carvery for the first time and you want to avoid driving around in circles, we highly recommend parking at the Puerto Marina in Benalmádena. The car park is just a short 5-10 minute walk from The Carvery, and it’s generally a solid option for parking all year round.
There are three different parking areas to choose from – two open-air car parks and one underground car park. The prices start from €1.10 per hour in the day, and €1.57 per hour after 8 pm.
Walking from Puerto Marina to The Carvery
The walk from the Puerto Marina car park to The Carvery is relatively flat and takes around 10 minutes from start to finish – more than manageable, even in the summer. The route is suitable for families, including children, and it’s a lovely way to start and end your meal with us.
The route runs along the promenade, before taking a short turn up the alleyway close to the Ocean House hotel (formerly the Sol House hotel).
For those who would prefer not to walk, there’s also a taxi rank just a few steps away from The Carvery, as well as another taxi rank in Puerto Marina Benalmádena.
Parking tips for the summer season
July and August are the busiest times of the year in Torremolinos, so the car park at Puerto Marina Benalmádena can fill up quickly, especially during the day when people arrive to spend a day at the beach. However, by contrast, evenings are a bit more straightforward as visitors begin to leave, and more spaces become available.
Some street parking can be found around the restaurant, but during summer it can be limited.
On Sundays, we highly recommend booking a table at The Carvery in advance if you can. Sunday is, naturally, our busiest time of the week, so reserving a table will ensure you won’t miss out on dining with us.
However, even if you haven’t booked a table, it’s always worth popping your head in to ask about availability, as we’ll always try our best to fit you in where we can!
How to get to Puerto Marina Benalmádena
Puerto Marina sits close to the border of both Torremolinos and Benalmádena and is well sign-posted from both directions. From Torremolinos town centre, the drive takes around 5-10 minutes depending on traffic. For visitors coming from Fuengirola, Mijas, Marbella and beyond, Puerto Marina is clearly signed from the exit of the A-7 coast road.
If you’re travelling from Málaga, you can also take advantage of the C1 Cercanías train service to get to The Carvery from Málaga city centre. Just hop off the train at either El Pinillo or Arroyo de la Miel, and take a 15-20 minute walk downhill, or you can get a taxi to The Carvery for under €10.
Book your table ahead of time
However you plan on travelling to us, we always recommend booking your table in advance, particularly on Sundays and throughout the summer season.
Walk-in guests are always welcomed at The Carvery and we will always do our best to accommodate you, but booking ahead means your table is guaranteed and your evening can begin the moment you arrive.
To book your table, simply click here to book online, send an email to info@thecarverycompany.com, or call us on +34 952 373 722. We look forward to welcoming you!
