It happens all the time – you’re wandering around Torremolinos or Benalmádena, the sun is doing exactly what it’s supposed to do, and someone in your group says the words that change everything: “I really fancy a proper roast dinner.” A very reasonable craving for a group of people who haven’t eaten since breakfast!
Here’s what we want you to know: in most cases, you can still pop in and dine with us.
At The Carvery in Torremolinos, we do everything we can to accommodate walk-in diners. We know that holidays don’t always run to a schedule, and that sometimes the best meals are the ones you just stumbled across. So if you find yourself outside our door without a booking, come on in, have a word with our team and more often than not we’ll find you a table.
Why So Many People Assume They Can’t Walk In
We hear it regularly from diners who’ve visited us for the first time. They’ll come in, get their food, take their first bite, and then say something along the lines of: “We almost didn’t come in because we thought you’d be fully booked!”
The lesson? Always ask us! The worst we can say is that we’re full, and even then, we’ll always try to give you a good idea of how long the wait might be, so you can decide for yourself.
When Walk-Ins Work Best
If you’re planning to pop in without a reservation, weekday evenings (Monday to Saturday) are your best bet for walking in and being seated quickly. Earlier in the evening (we open at 18:00) tends to be more flexible than later, so if you’re thinking about heading our way, arriving at the start of service gives you the best chance of getting a table without any wait at all.
Midweek is particularly relaxed. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings are lovely times to visit and it’s every bit as good as the weekend in terms of food and atmosphere.
A Word on Sundays
Sundays are, obviously, our busiest day. The combination of our Sunday lunchtime service and the full evening carvery means tables fill up quickly. Whilst we’ll always do our best to accommodate walk-ins, if a Sunday roast is what you’re after, and particularly if you’re coming as a group or a family, booking ahead is well worth it. It takes two minutes and it means your table is guaranteed.
That said, even on Sundays, it’s always worth popping in and asking!
Not Everyone in Your Group Fancies a Roast? No Problem
One thing we hear fairly often is groups hesitating to book or walk in because not everyone fancies a carvery. Maybe one person’s in the mood for something lighter, someone else wants fish, and someone’s eyeing up a burger. Good news, that’s never been a problem at The Carvery.
Alongside our full carvery, we offer a proper menu of British classics served every day of the week, so everyone at the table can order exactly what they’re in the mood for. Scampi and chips, a good steak, or something off our starters menu – whatever it is, there’s no need for the whole group to commit to the same thing. Mix and match as you please. We’ll bring it all out together, and nobody has to compromise on what they fancy.
So if you’ve been holding off because half your party wants a roast and the other half doesn’t, don’t. Come on in, there’s something for everyone!
How to Book A Table at The Carvery
You can book a table online by clicking here, calling us directly on +34 952 373 722 or you can drop us an email at info@thecarverycompany.com. We’d always recommend booking ahead for larger groups, Sunday visits, or if you’re planning a special occasion, it means we can make sure everything is ready for you.
But for those spontaneous moments, the impromptu Tuesday dinner, the last-minute decision on a Friday evening, the “we were just passing and couldn’t resist” visit, please come on in. Our team will always do their best to look after you.
The Carvery at Montemar, Torremolinos
We’re proud to be one of the most recommended restaurants in Torremolinos, and a big part of that comes down to making people feel welcome, whether they booked three weeks ago or walked through the door five minutes ago!
So if you’re on the Costa del Sol and the craving hits, don’t talk yourself out of it. Come and find us on Calle Saltillo 2, Torremolinos, just behind the Ocean House Hotel (formerly Sol House). Chances are, we’ll have a table with your name on it!
